Also needed to verify among several alternatives what would be the best approach. Impact Evaluations also use the ability to account for the counterfactual – what would have occurred without the intervention using comparison and treatment groups.

Systematic Review

Uses the knowledge of literature review to collect secondary data, critically appraise research studies, and synthesize findings qualitatively or quantitatively. This knowledge is used to answer a defined research question by collecting and summarising all empirical evidence that fits pre-specified eligibility criteria.

Research Instrument Design

Experienced in the process of survey design which involves identifying the topics which will be covered, measuring a change of answers over time, diversifying in open and close-ended questions, appropriate question phrasing and construction, questions order and pilot tests, and dedicated focus groups.

Quantitative Data Analysis

A quantitative approach is useful in finding evidence to either support or reject hypotheses that have been formulated at the earlier stages of a research process.

Qualitative Data Analysis

Theory of Change

Expertise in determining why the desired change is expected to happen in a particular context. It is a valuable asset to promote social change. It defines long-term goals and then maps backward to identify necessary preconditions. It is to make the distinction between desired and actual outcomes and in requiring stakeholders to model their desired outcomes before they decide on forms of intervention to achieve those outcomes.
